Excellent horror fiction comes in all shapes and sizes, and here at Crone Girls Press, we have a slightly-larger-than-bite-sized announcement for those who love really long short stories (or really short novels…)
Introducing: Midnight Bites!
Midnight Bites is a new series of mini-anthologies, each containing three novella-length pieces of horror and dark fiction. We are launching our first volume, entitled Foul Womb of Night, tomorrow.
Foul Womb of Night ~ Table of Contents
“Goblin Hole” by Adam Stemple
“Frozen Meat” by Gustavo Bondoni
“Yanaguana” by Elizabeth Donald
While our previous, full-length anthologies have not contained any overt themes, aside from the genre, this first volume contains three stories that feature military and paramilitary settings, from the trenches of World War I, to the frozen wastes of Antarctica, to the busy streets of modern-day San Antonio, TX.

These mini-anthologies are designed for the reader of dark fiction who wouldn’t mind spending some time immersed in a story, who wants to dip in for a bite. The characters in these stories wrestle with monsters real and allegorical, sometimes coming out on top. Sometimes, they don’t. But giving up the fight isn’t in any of their DNA.

Two of the authors, Adam Stemple and Gustavo Bondoni, are experienced writers who are publishing for the first time with Crone Girls Press. This volume marks Elizabeth Donald‘s third publication with us, this time a new novella in the world of the Blackfire series, which was my introduction to her work as a reader.

So stop on by as the sun sets and the moon eases her slow way over the horizon. Turn down the lights, except for the lamp over your shoulder, and the candle flickering in the window. Pull a blanket over your shoulders to ward off a chill from the autumn night, and come spend a short few hours in the world of our Midnight Bites…

Ready for some suspenseful horror? Pick up a copy of Midnight Bites 1: Foul Womb of Night, or you can read it with your Kindle Unlimited subscription. And, once you are finished, please think about leaving us a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Reviews make our cold, dark little heart so happy…
